A lemon top is a lemon sorbet on top of vanilla icecream, well in Scarborough anyhow... and it's gorgeous!
As to the ceiling, things are looking up a bit, H had a word with the man explaining exactly what was needed and why (thanks for your input guys, I repeated it faithfully to him beforehand.. :lol: ) and of course it was good to have various standpoints to nip any 'buts' in the bud, that strong posture helped, my stepdaughter's fellow agreed that would be better especially as I may be using this space as a teaching space, too, so, fingers crossed, when he has got another guy to help him with it he'll come up... I'm trying to be positive and optimistic here, he did a good job with the wall, so fingers crossed. :smilewinkgrin: I'll just have to patient for a while longer, thanks all for your great input and reassurance :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Talked to Mum-to-be, too, all is well... all left on a good note...:)

After all you wouldn't want the ceiling to come down ontop of a new grandchild!

No, indeed, but the garage workshop will be out of bounds for her for a long time :lol: Weird to think of a 'grandchild' as a stepmum... not the same but somehow still the same... I'm looking forward to a little babby about the house though...

:yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:

I cant beleive he thought that was a good job!!!

In all seriousness, I could have done a better job by randomly tossing boards in the air, then shooting at them with a nail gun from 4 foot away thus randomly pinning them to the ceiling, whilst wearing a blindfold.

Are you sure he didnt get confused and wander into the neighbours garage thinking he'd actually done their ceiling, he cant have been looking at that when he said it was a good job.

If he's a plasterer, he must be able to fix boards, and unless your garage is made from a bamboo garden cane frame, tied together with string then it should be able to take the weight of plasterboards.

Hope you get it sorted
