mike did you contemplate getting the rail saw ?

also, how long have you had it for ?

Had it since Sept 07, i bought it from the training centre after completing my tiling course, didn't really know anything about wet cutters so i was happy with it. As i said i've cut lots of tough stuff with it and it's been fine. I think that as long as it's got a powerful motor and a decent blade you can't go wrong. Most guys on here who have the plasplugs, change the blade straight away for a decent one, whereas i have not changed the blade in my Clipper yet at all, i don't think the blades anything special but a spare one is supplied and the cutter has a very handy carry case.
As for a rail saw, i've not ever thought about one to be honest mate:thumbsup:

Boosha go on the tools for sale page, there is a guy selling loads of brand new tools for £350 give him a call see what he has.

well thats exactly what i thought with it being a tilting table.

i think at last im sold with a cutter. cheers lads.

Hi mate, i've got the Norton TT 200EM, it's the next one up from the one you're looking at. It has a beefy 800 Watt motor and has easily cut granite, natural stone, porcelain and 20mm thick limestone, and i'm still on the first blade. Check it out on the web site you found the TT180 EM on, it's £120 inc vat:thumbsup:
mike , i like the look of that cutter mate , how good is it and is it reasonably splash free for inside work??

for a first time wet saw the GENESIS pro cut is niffty piece of kit £102 plus vat comes in 240v or the 110v (maybe a little dearer for the 110) but a must if you intend doing site work.

When i first got it i used it on a job inside the room with me and it was fine, just take a few mins to maybe put a polythene sheet down just in case. Now i've broken the disc guard off ( i lost my temper ), water goes everywhere:lol:.
As for mitres, i've done it once with a natural stone and it was spot on.
Overall i'm impressed with it and would get another one when mine dies:thumbsup:
