wow so every tiler you know is so busy with work they can turn it away? or a drug addict...Im amazed that there is any discussions on this forum about price... we all should be charging £100 sqm given the lack of good tilers and the difficulty in getting one,

I guess construction companies must write to every tiler in the directory when they are looking for some1 then and interview them all ...even the guys that call themselves aaa advark tiling... or john smith tiling... but just maybe they dont and they never see that JOhn Smith tiler is actually very good whose itching to work .... dam I could pass him some work and feed his family ...but he could be a drunk drug addict ...better not risk it then

Don't think the guys are trying to be funny mate, there telling the truth. I had plasterers working for me many years ago and it was more aggro that it was worth, walk off a job and I could hear the kettle being switched on and I would myself have to put right any bad work right.

As a large contractor you may need a big chat with Mr inland revenue

Psycho,

I've been working in Colchester this week. It's a bit far for me, normally, but I was doing someone a favour so took the job on.

I have taken on commercial contracts and priced them accordingly to make money for me and the guys that have worked with me - just apply a commercial mind when pricing up (some you win, some you lose).

Are you suggesting that you are so busy that you cannot take these larger jobs on? or is it because you lack confidence or resource?

If you want to discuss a possible win / win business opportunity, then pm me your mobile and we'll chat.

Daz
