Patchy Mapei grout... any ideas?

Maybe being accurate with water is and having a v strong wrist for mixing is the answer, and i have a very strong wrist 😉 and being accurate with gauging is a plasterers forte 🙂

Cant stand Mapei grout totaly agree with Bri, far to much faffing about, dont rate it at all 😛rrr:

I am quite liking Weber grouts and have always thought Bal grouts where streets ahead.

Can remember the old ultracolour, couldnt leave that 5 mins or it was welded to the bucket. :lol:

ive had exactly the same problem with 110 manhatten grey this week,hoping its going to dry out but im terrified it wont.I used a mechanical mixer and measured with a water bottlenot gonna sleep tonite.

You didn't use 215kg of water too did you? 🙂

I think one thing with coloured grout is once its mixed, keep mixing a bit longer. Seems to make a difference. I've always been a spatula guy though for mixing grout, with a dedicated spatula and bucket for each colour.

Did you sort out this problem??? With the 110 manhatten Grey.. Ive got a whole bathroom that looks terrible as its all dried from the correct colour to charcoal grey!! Looks terrible. any advice???

Was ready mixed bucket dispersion adhesive used..?

Ok, this could be the cause of the darker patches in your grout, when the adhesive is not allowed to fully dry and then grouted... the moisture in the adhesive escapes through the tile joints and can discolour the grout as it tries to expel through the grout lines.. you will probs find that it will stay this colour now..

This might be an ideal situation for a re-colouring..
