That is common with most things nowadays to be fair. New cars are nearly all like that. Work can only be completed by the manufacturer. I took my 4S to Genius Bar with an intermittent fault and walked out 30 mins later with a brand spanking new phone no problems 🙂

That's not true at all!?! Yes, it would void your warranty, and I accept that. Not asking Apple to do the work for free... But a Ford garage, isn't going to refuse to sell and fit a new starter motor to your car, because another garage has fitted a sub standard 3rd party one.

Definitely. If I'd known, I'd have taken the phone to Apple for a new screen and paid the extra £50! Wasn't aware it would be an issue!?!

I know a lot of people that have been caught out with replacement screens.
As soon as that Phone has been opened then Apple won't entertain it.

I can't even get them to confirm whether it is a genuine Apple screen, as that is what it was sold as...

Is there any tilers out there who don't use their mobile phone for their work?

I used my Samsung to spread out render when I forgot my plastering trowel. Had to replace cos microphone had plaster in and nobody could hear my voice clearly :yikes:
