Porcelain Floor Tiles

I've recently had porcelain floor tiles fitted & grouted in kitchen. Two weeks later I've found out that the ceramic adhesive (evostick fastset)has been used by the tiler.
Should I get the tiles lifted and relaid with correct adhesive? Surely risk of damage to tiles is high during the lifting & cleaning?
Tiler tells me the tiles haven't "popped", he's used this adhesive before and he will guarantee the work for a year. However everything else tells me I should get him to relay the tiles regardless of the aggro involved.

A year guarrantee ??? How nice of him. I would say yes get it done right but it wont be that easy. If they had come loose already then you would have a case. Its the wrong adhesive but making him redo it will be another thing.

i would make him redo it too. having looked at the product on bosticks website it makes no reference to any thing other than ceramic tiles.
how many sqm was laid with this?

This was supplied to me on a porcelain job last week and the tile shop said that they use it all the time and had the OK from Evo for porcelain.:yikes:

I stuck to my guns and refused to use it.

tbh the tiles may stick for a year or two but i feel they will eventually have to come up. Why not give Evo a ring yourself

thanks for replies guys, all pretty much what I expected but not what I hoped! 8 metres of floor tiled so not a huge area. I will give Evostick a call but thick the next call will be to the tiler to get it re-done.

If your tiler is new to the idea of working with porcelain tiles
he may also be interested to know we have an all in one tile
drilling solution for porcelain tiles.

Something tilers working with ceramics often dont realise is that you must use
diamonds to cut the tile. And that includes the holes.
