you do what the customer wants Sean, last time I checked
i dont do floors like that at a normal speed. any cuts i have to do i dry fit them first, wouldnt put addy on floor then do them, what if you need to do a fine adjustment with tile or summet. he looks more like a labourer trying to do some tiling. he was applying addy with a plastering trowel by the look of it.
I agree!:8:Laying the adhesive first is not a problem at all so long as you do the cuts as you need them, There is nothing worse than laying all the field tiles and then having to do the cuts, very time consuming, finish all areas as you go.

that is ok yes but what happens when you are tiling a floor that only as one acces point into it,and you have to lay the tiles furthest away from the door first and work outwards towards the door.if i have a standard bathroon floor to do, say upto 5m2 i dry fit all tiles first the lay them, still only half, full days work there. i dont find it time consuming at all.
I do on a smallish sized floor DomDoes anyone else dry lay a floor first?, I have not done that in 20 odd years, it seems a waste of time and effort. Work out where everything is going and lay the floor with the cuts done as you go. You cant do it to walls which are more difficult and time consuming so why dry lay a floor?
