Lots of work in slate; grading, checking for flaking, sealing let alone the fitting. £25/m2 are you sure?

Yep im sure, sure i wouldnt do it for £25m2!!!

However if i was starting out and maybe further work from it then id do it for whatever i could afford too i guess. Not fun for £25 tho!
 
used slate in my kitchen, a total pita. if i came to do a job now i would price on day work, there are so many variations with slate, chinese slate can be **** poor, imho. £25:thumbsdown:
 
im a new tiler too, wot do u mean no wet cuts with slate? does it just not cut it, can u use a dry cutter? sorry if these are daft questions im learning as i go

angle grinder all the way im afraid. Very dusty, goggles required and ear defenders.

Wet saw wont touch em and rail cutter, unlikely!
 
hi, ok your confusing me now. .why can't they be wet cut. . .i am still training but been wet cutting slate today with no problem
 
Slate cuts no problem on a wet cutter if the cutter has a powerful enough motor...
i use rubi wet saws and they cut slate no probs ( wet )....some of the cheaper cutters struggle on slate....if you require a good wet saw then neil at .. http://www.buybrandtools.com/ will supply you with one.....
