..dunno..sounds like a right wally tho'...I'd bin him straight away...you can't run the ship with someone just after the glory work..every resents people like that and it's just gets the whole crew down.
In answer to a few questions ,The tiler in question has got potential to be a good tiler but there are quality issues i had to go back and change chipped tiles that were put in on a high end job around a window ,no excuse for it just put the tile in and left it there ,it was pulled straight away resulting in my partner getting a flea in the ear from the builder ,with times like these competitors are queueing up to replace you so the standard of your work and level of service have to be very high to stay busy ,
I have decided that I will be letting this tiler go but will let finish out the job he is on and give him notice to find other work .
He sounds lazy to me, not wanting to pull his weight and leaving in chipped tiles, he must have seen them on install he just maybe couldn't be bothered to change it. The other lads will be pleased i'm sure. Nice of you to give him the chance to find other work, no doubt he'll slag you off but you've been the better man by dealing with him fairly which will always become apparent to people
give him the heave-ho m8!:incazzato:
he will cause unrest with your other guys if he is taking all the cream and making a good wage while everyone else is struggling, but make sure he finishes what he started first:mad2:
It's hard some times to make these decisions as you just never know what is around the corner. If you get rid of the lad you may find that you need him in the future. If you give him a chance to improve his attitude and his standard of work he may become an asset to you. You could put him on a one month probation and if nothing improves then let him go.
