Funny that , I'm always making friends by following the crowd on here 😉
Anyway, I have no problem with trim or no trim , I much preferred trimmed , but that's a completely different story

I usually edge porcelain with a piece of 20mm wide granite tapered to fit the customers desired depth of matting, place the matting insitu, then profile each bristle to match. Then contract a monthly cleaning service.
Or whack a 12mm trim in it and let the customers do what they want with it.

Here's one I did with an access panel in the floor

I would always trim a matwell, it's an edge and it's no different to any other exposed edge in my opinion

When you think about it every type of flooring has some kind of transition bar when it comes to a stop.

have you put trim round the removed panel edge ?
