Hi

I've inherited a Rubi TX 700 to cut some porcelain tiles. I've fitted a brand new wheel but the cut line is sometimes wavey or dog legged in places.

There is definitely some side to side in the sliding part - hopefully the attached video shows what I mean.

Is this normal? worth replacing the head? or cut my losses and just buy a new one ?

Thanks

James

Looks like bearings need replacing in the handle/runner. Think there are 4 sets.

I’m certain the one i had just run on nylon inserts and are prone to wearing. I found keeping the score handle pressed to one aide as you score keeps the score line straight.
Alternatively speak to the Rubi rep for a service on the machine .

I think www.TradeTiler.com will be your guy speak to him. Via contact form or just ring tomorrow and he will send you new parts for it. If you get a video to him he should know whether bearings or anything else and can send you parts from stock. The only supplier to stock spare parts for rubi tile cutters.

Say Dan sent you from Tilers Forums mate. 🙂
