Ive worked with these before, you have to cut them with a hacksaw though now I have a multi-use marcrist grinder disc that will cut neatly through any material. The ones I fit came with a plasic film on the front cut a few mil shy of the edges. This film had arrows on so you knew you were fixing the "grain" the same direction. The film was to be left on untill grouted then peeled off individually afterwards. Hope this helps...

Just got a reply (no mention of adhesives, but as the tiles are only available through our local 'Direct Tile Importers') they may be the ones to ask. Asked for a couple of samples, but no go, told to go to the shop...oh well...excerpt of the pdf attachment:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to their metallic nature it is essential that a qualified electrician
carries out all electrical work around the metal mosaics.​

Original Style does not recommend the use of any metal mosaics in swimming pools.
Make sure that the grain of stainless steel is going in one direction, because if not, the sheets will
appear to be different colours.
Before deciding on metal mosaics it is important to consider where you are going to use them.
Metal mosaics can be cut using a diamond cutter and then filing the edges to take off any burrs.
However, Original Style does not recommend using metal mosaics on external corners as this will
leave a cut edge. This point is especially relevant when using brickbond metal mosaics.
Metal mosaics are not suitable for areas which get wet, such as showers.
Metal mosaics do not require sealing or finishing.
Take care when grouting glass/metal tiles as some grout will scratch the metal surface. Always use grout that is fine.​

PS these tiles have a ceramic backing. They are only faced with stainless...

ah, that's what's meant by brickbond then I take it, that sorts the adhesive question then... cheers...

me and my m8 tiled an underpass and used 8x4 stainless steel faced tiles as random dots the 1st day we must have done 50m2 and used about 50 stainless tiles the following day we went back and somebody had removed all the random dots to be fair they at least cleaned out the bed of adhesive and never damaged any field tiles:lol:
i know this has nothing to do with this thread but its the only time ive used stainless steel tiles in 20 years

Can you proof? Product description doesn´t say clear that it is so. And regarding the question about what adhesive to take I still cannot find a recommandation, even not in the "mosaic fixing guide" (says only "high polymer modified adhesive". Cement based adhesive or tubed dispersion adhesive ? Grey or white or clear ?).

As long as the manufacturer doesn´t answer on Mosaic Girl´s question we can only guess:
a) if it is ceramic based and stainless stell faced only -> no problem to all, cement based adhesive can be taken, grey should be sufficiant
b) if it is glass based and stainless steel faced only -> no problem to all, cement based adhesive or a tubed one suitable for glass mosaic can be taken, white adhesive should be prefered
c) if it is made of stainless steel - we should wait for/insist on the answer. That is advantage for all.

Next time I look into tile importers in town I shall have a look and ask and let you know if anything useful comes up. Annoying isn't it, it's that German precision we like, eh....:lol:
