Yeh , I'm now studying U values of 6mm & 10mm insulation board. It appears going from 10mm down to 6mm halves the heat loss.

Might have to put a bit of a threshold in the doorway though.

Hmmmmm , descisions.

Diggy

Dont want to be picky but surely going from 10mm down to 6mm doubles the heat loss not halve it?

Good morning all,
HEATING.
We always say over telephone or on our quotations:-
Ekoboard insulation boards for use on concrete based floors.
Marmox construction insulation boards for use on wood based floors.
Insulation board will need an overall extra thickness of 2mm over the board thickness. for 2mm powdered flexible tile adhesive under the boards to fix.
We stock Marmox as well, like Ekoboard, the best of its type.
We have had some people use Ekoboards on ply etc, but that would be down to their choice.

Ekoboards are the 'guts' of construction insulation boards without the concrete polymer embedded in a fibreglass mesh on each side.
Ekoboards are 'closed cell' extruded polystyrene.
There are many different types of extruded poltstyrene, so be careful. Our is the 'floor grade' version and does the job we ask of it.
150,000+ boards sold since 2006.

Hope that is of some help, warm regards, Keith.
