Yes exactly, but I would put the Ardex in the complete shower area and bring Ditra up to shower tray area. And if you're using small mosaics in shower the Ditra wouldn't be suitable.

Indeed, schluter for the floor, Ardex for the walls. Schluter do do a membrane for the walls if you want to keep manufacturer consistency.

Ok just looked at the schluter website as I was concerned about the overall heights and they do heating cable which goes into this mat so it will keep the heights down.

so just a recap if I use this system it will be.

25 mm ply floor screwed & glued.
tile backer boards glued & screwed.
ditra mat
Tank walls corner tape ect,ect
heating cable into mat.
tile floor
tile walls....

No. If you go for Schluter electric UFH then it will be as follows:

25 mm ply floor screwed & glued.
heating cable into mat.
Tape joints and tank walls.
tile floor
tile walls

Ok so now you are saying I should not lay the tile backerboard at all if I use this ditra matt.
This backer board is supposed to be a good insulator according to the manufacturer and is only 6 mm.
Otherwise I would need an alternative insulator if I don't use them...

Ditra heat-e matting is a vapour barrier, fleece backed, de-coupler and, in theory, tanking. If joints etc are taped.
It wouldnt hurt at all to put an insulation board under it. But schluter doesnt suggest that its required.

Yes I read that also cheers for that.....and it also says that they recommend the waterproofing of the heat mat prior to tiling as the cable needs to be tanked.

Are you running thr UFH into the wet area?
