Thanks for the advise Guys after great deliberation I am confident of the spec given by Mapei however not the substrate! I have explained the position and the contractor knows my stance and ethics on tiling and that I will not compromise when it comes to the quality of my work, and so I started to lift the tiles, However after trying in three separate areas the tiles are extremely difficult to lift WELL STUCK so plan A it is, all avenues are now covered. Thanks Stu!
Thanks for all your advice on this subject my reputation is everything I will keep you posted as to the outcome.
Regards
Trev.

you dont know - what addy was used (was it flexible) what min gaps were used for the heater wire, how the sensor was handled, if the wire was knicked or bent, if the SLC had voids, if the addy was a solid bed, what the original substraight was, how much bounce it had, how much underfloor ventilation it had, if there was a board added to prevent heat loss under. You cant know if the porc will stick, what the u values of this arrangement will be (I've never seen this recommended by an ufh company), what the final weight would be (do building control approve this?) and who will have responsibility for any failures. .... walk!
