Time's Ran Out

Don't touch heating and plumbing! I know you were doing a good turn Andy but you could end up liable!
I'd have turned off the heating and thrown a towel down. Not my problem Guv!

But I think it was his problem once he tightened the valve.
I agree @impish .

I get what you saying imp, and i did turn the thermostat down first to turn heating off but it didn't stop the drip, and seeing I was leveling the floor, fitting insulation boards and ufh, couldn't let a bit of a drip stop the whole job. I'm on a tight schedule tha nose :)

Blunt Tool

I was packing away tools yesterday at 6pm on the driveway of a wet room I'm working on at the mo. I always pride myself on never having had any serious accidents or blunders, but I went and did it yesterday. Loading my dewalt d24000 into the van when I lost grip of the stand as I tried to manoeuvre it in from an angle. The pointed metal feet (all 4) slammed straight into the next door neighbours new vauxhall Astra side door! Needless to say I couldn't deny it :(

Looks like I'm phoning my insurance company then.

What accidents or blunders have people had?

I put this in the arms so out of the way if customers! ;)
Found a lady pleasurer (shall we say!) behind the toilet on a shelf of boxed in pipes, soon as I touched it, it came on. Then I heard her coming up the stairs with a cup of tea for me and started panicking as couldn't figure out how to switch it off! So threw it into my bucket of water, just as she came into bathroom damn thing humming away going round and round with my sponge!!! She laughed picked it up twisted it off and went away with it! Stayed in that bathroom all day until it was finished and was still red faced after 8 hours!

One Day

Can't remember if I've already told this one, but years back i was struggling with the siliconing in a customer's kitchen. You know when you pull out a wonder wipe from the tub and it tears off, the rest then disappear? Well because wonder wipes were new out, i didn't know you could pull the cap off. Instead, i pushed my right index finger through the cross slot in the lid.
Big mistake. Finger now well and truly stuck!
You can't pull out because the cross acts like 4 arrow barbs, digging in and cutting.
There was no one else in the house to help and I'm stuck. In a brief moment of clarity after the panic subsided and the blood started to flow from my finger i heated up a knife on the stove and melted the lid to release my finger.
This is the point the customer returns, as I'm filling their new kitchen with acrid burning smoke and bleeding on the worktop with my finger stuck in a big red lid.
Quite embarrassing to explain.
Thankfully the design of the lids has changed...
