topps tiles shame on you

hey all, just finished off a slate floor today and the customer needed to get 3 bags of add for me to finish ,to save them driving 40 miles to the shop where they brought everything from , i said well you could all ways try topps lol ,so off they went ,on the return they said they popped in to top but they wanted £63 a bag lol so they went for a drive instead lol
they payed £68 for the 3 bags instead of £189 from topps it may of cost them £20 tops for driving to the shop ,but still saved then selfs over £100 ,shame on you topps
the funny thing is that they are developing 6 barns at a very top end , so after the little cost thing ,topps will not be getting any sales from this cpl

No sorry, I was the customer in the Tamworth branch some while ago and it was over £50 for SPF white. Also it wasnt even BAL it was their own brand. I couldnt get them to budge so told them to shove it.

Well that branch must be making so much money and beating their targets by such a vast amount each quarter they can afford to knock back your business!

You not got a trade card like? Prices are set all over the country, as per website!!!!

i got a trade card, and i find it very handy for getting ice off my windscreen during the winter, thats about all its good for as the last time i tried using it they offered me 5%off retail..

i must admit i have steered clear of topps in the past due to a similar experience of walking into a shop in working gear and asking what prices they had on adhesives......instead if using there heads and doing me a deal they quoted me 40 odd quid a bag as well so i just walked out

however have recently used the local edinburgh store which seems well run have given them a few tile orders so far i guess it depends on which store and individual you get

i beleive they now offer a bit better trade discount as this was another issue i had with the setup at topps...also price match

You can get any deal you want if you go in and barter. If you won't/don't use them regular you won't get it, they are looking after the regular trade much better now.

Did a job once just before Christmas needed one more chrome tile edge to finish would have got it from CTD at £4.99 but to late being Christmas went to Topps £19.99 for the same trim I stop using them I steer all customers away from them now.I dont rate there own brand of adhesive any way,I also have just done a kitchen with Metro tiles the customer first went to topps for a price then she got the same tiles on line for half the price.

i get great discounts with them too. chrome trim is about a fiver bal rapid set flexi 16 quid
the metro tiles are sellin for about 18 m2. i use it because its the closest store
