Just out of interest CJ, how long have you been trading, whats your average monthly spend to receive those prices and also how much did you have to spend prior to them opening a Trade account for you?

I'll be able to answer some of that.

You don't have to trade with them to get a trade account, you just need to prove you are a trader with the usual invoices and references from other suppliers and then get an account number.

The percentage will vary, not on the amount spent by the trader but the product variation and what topps pay.... Rapid set a trader will get a good % off, Fastflex not much sort of thing. - Topps do get the cheapest rates from BAL though, they're their biggest account.

Average spend can be anything to get the same prices across the nation.

Very few stores give more or less discount than the standard setting which is national I believe.

And very few retails orders (even big) get any discount at all. Manager override discount these days I believe. The most they do is toy with 'procedd value' and make you think you're saving a quid if they give you a sponge that costs them 6p.

They must have there own precedent that they can set / enforce as the local topps around this way will only offer a full trade discount after an individual spends over £1000 in store,regardless of proof of history etc.. also the prices on a full trade discount are around 20% higher than listed above.

They do have a North / South regional manager over the Area Reps I believe.... so perhaps it is something they do differently.

Or I did leave about bloody 10 years ago, perhaps it's changed? lol

I have had a Topps account for about 10 years now...........Opened up first in Edinburgh Topps.......as soon as they opened a new shop up there..........so at that time they where giving trade cards away............moved to Somerset where I live now, and after about a year Topps opened a store down here........So I just transfered my card..............


Average around £200/£250 a month...............that has slowed now, as I have been buying Palace in bulk.

Did'nt need to spend anything prior to opening a trade account.

Granfix for some reason recommend PVA for priming their products!??! :whatchutalkingabout It is on their website.
