UFH and a viccy/geometric floor

Thinking of taking up the wood effect tiles in my hallway and laying a victorian floor in it's place (having a hall/stairs/landing revamp) and was wondering about how ufh would affect it as I'd be using 1mm maximum joints. Not sure about wether to have ufh or not, but just thought I'd throw the question out there:smilewinkgrin:

I dont think it would hurt. i know they like 3 mm joints on UFH floors but I am sure its been done. I havent though.

Doug I have laid plenty of geometric floors over ufh, no probs, sometimes used crack isolation, the thin ones Mapeitex/PCI. Not ditra or Dural or the like, they don't recommend anything less than 50mm square, due to point loading.

I remember the wood effect tiles you put down!
As for the proposed geometric some ready made designs have a wider joint than 1mm and are usually self spacing at 3mm. Don't forget the pictures.
