Well done peckers.too many like that about now.my main building contractor rang me this morning with another house for me.he had me booked for 2 in january so thats 3 now and he no cowboy thankfully.anything i need i get and thats the way to have it! Good luck trying to get your money and john m might have and interesting idea in his post!

i aggree with all that has been said well done for walking out it takes courage to walk out on a job knowing he is holding your money especially in these times.
I have not been knocked for my money yet , but i will at some point.
and horrid thoughts run through my head on ways of getting my money or if not what would make me feel better.

UPDATE TO THIS SITUATION!!!!!!

I have today spoken to the builder as he phoned me grovelling!!! He has agreed to remove and reinstate the wall to my specs(hardi backer) if i go back on monday and tile the bathroom for him, He has also agreed to meet me there on monday and pay me in full for the work i have already done and to pay for the tiling of this bathroom in advance in cash!! I wanted my money upfront so as to be sure to get it!!!!(not a tax dodge) just wanted to be sure
Maybe he will learn that the correct way is the only way!!
Yes i was reluctant to go back and diddnt want to on principle! however money is money,
I would like to thank all of you for your support in the dicission i had made
