Heres hoping you guys can help me with a small querie. For ages now I have been pricing large areas of wall tiles on a rate but am unsure as to when I supply and fix the tiles do I need to allow or try to work in the wastage allowance so that I am not paying for the wastage allowance I throw in the skip. When I measure on completion do I add it then? Sorry if this is not very well explained but am a little confused. What does everyone else do in these situations? Thanks in advance.

thanks Dave so its not worth trying to work it in then or am I complicating things for myself? If I try andadd it on and as per usual my measurements get checked by qs and he spots it whats the best way to handle it? sos for all the questions.:mad2:

I allow 10% for a straight set job and 20% for diamond.

If I measure up I add the wastage amount and tell the customer the amount of tiles needed so they know how many to get or how many I'm getting... Does that make sense?

Just say you might have a bit of the tile you cant use after you cut hence the 10% waste:smilewinkgrin:

Remember you dont add the 10% in your quote

as long as you make sure you have 10% more tiles than your measured :hurray:

thanks deanotile so in effect we pay for the 10% wastage then? do you try and gain it back some how?
