If you are fix only on site you will only get paid for whats on the wall/floor.
For me its 10% wastage when measuring to quote.

does the QS actually need to know about this 10%. You know it is a requirement and surely you add the cost of this onto your price. You can use this positively woth some buyers by saying it is a "fixed price" with no hidden extras.......or am I oversimplifying

When you measure the area to be tiled and its say 200 mts then you add 10%, so 220 mtrs of tiles, you charge the customer for the 220 mts of tiles and then charge for what you fit.

yea im supplying the tiles but not sure how or where to add in the waste.

The job is 17 sm2 you buy 19 sm2 you use 17sm2 plus say 1.7 waste

you quote 19sm2 and tell him he can keep the spare tiles because you have no use for them

if it's site work then odds on the QS will be giving half your tiles away to his brother in law/mates/people he meets in the pub anyway!..just lie...everyone else does ha ha ha!

There is a chippy in Dudley that has walls and floors tiled in Fitness First spec? I went in one day and thought wtf! turns out one of the Labradors had been pinching them, he got the push.
