Wet tile saws? Which ones

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

more water on the floor than i would have hoped for, is that normaly spillage? i kinda want to be able to use this either inthe room im working in, if said room is big enough, or at least in someones garage or possibly set up in the back of the van. I cant be doing with all the running up and down stairs, im just not used to it!

Anyone got one of the makita hand held cutters i've seen on tradetiler? They look as they could be handy for nipping off little bits or the odd cut here and there?

don hasnt got the side water tray fiited on that pic, that collects alot of water ....

I used mine in a garage next to a car...

No spillage or over spray if you use the side trays provided with the cutter.

customer was impressed and so was i..

yes sorry it's not on the pick, compare to other this wet saw is really spraying not a lot of water 🙂

Absolutely Don, the one i use leaves me looking like i wet myself! I would jut like to be able to use it in decent size bathrooms without walking water in and out of the room. Thanks for the picture though Im definitely having one!

Ok so i got another question!

The jobs i have coming up, 2 bathrooms are in travertine. The last time i did trav i used my current wet cutter but cut them dry as the mess before was ridiculous.

Has anyone used their dewalts dry and to what end? I appreciate its gonna kill the life of the blade somwehat but in clean up time on my old one it was well worth the extra money. I also appreciate i would HAVE to cut outside in this instance cos of the dust.

Go on help me out with my last question, you know you wanna!

Cheers guys

I used to cut quite a bit of trav dry on my Rubi rail saw.. nice edge as well..

But not something i have done on the dewalt...it's my baby and i treat her well... i keep her watered and well fed with tiles...

Thanks again Dave. I just find wet trav a real pain. Its the messiest tile i have laid when cutting and of course wont stick when its wet! I appreciate what oyu mean about the saw thoug, its a lot of money to then abuse it!

I wipe the tile back with a regularly rung cloth and then back ski with flat blade and adhesive.. sticks like poo to a blanket..
