Sorry for dragging up an oldi'sh topic, but when you apply adhesive using the 10mm trowel or whatever sizr you decide upon, then also back butter the tiles too, how much ashesive do you put on them.

Is it just enough to fill the ripples on the back of the tile so it's totaly smooth with adhesive ?

biggest ive laid so far is 900 x 300 porcelain wall tiles. But, much to the screams of the tilers on our books, weve just taken into stock a few pallets of 1200 x 1200 and 1000 x 1000 porcelain floor tiles. Grade 5 buggers as well. Theyre stupidly big. Hope i dont have to do a job with them!!

Laid a friends floor on Friday, turned up in the morning and for a second thought they were bloody flagstones, they were 1000 by 500,left my dry cutter at another job so had to do every cut with wet cutter, they all needed fully back buttering aswell.
Got a good drink out of it,3 pints of stella:icon8: hate doing jobs for mates
