Inspection&Test and EICR Electrical Advice

Inspection&Test and EICR Discussion ThreadInspection&Test and EICR Electrical Advice

Hi guys,
As a qualified electrician, do you need to be registered with a Scheme in order to carry out Inspection&Test and EICR? It is not notifiable anyway! According to the Regs being competent is sufficient, but you never know, every day we hear a new thing :). I have completed the Verification, Inspection and testing course to be on the safe side!

Hello,

Trying to change an older ceiling rose into a new light fitting, which only has a 2 cable attachment.

I realise it doesn't need earthing, but there is an additional wire, blue with red casing around it.
Not sure what I'm meant to do with that?
Also assume it's ok to fit the 3...

Have I possibly damaged the underfloor heating mat? Discussion ThreadHave I possibly damaged the underfloor heating mat? Electrical Advice

So I’m fitting an electric underfloor heating mat by pro warm. I was testing it for continuity between L N and got 88ohms which is what it should be according to the instructions.

It says to do IR test at 500V but it doesn’t say between which colours. So I did L N and got 0.00ohms. Have I damaged the mat? I realised after maybe I shouldn’t have...

Tesla wall connector gen 3 Electrical Advice

Hi

I have a job coming up with a Tesla Ev point. From what I read you need a Matt e box which is fine. It looks to me like it has no load limiting built into it and has no CT for this is this correct? This seems crazy to me.

This also means you can't limit it to 60a and notify afterwards, seems a poor bit of kit for a premium brand that it is missing these two safety elements.

Cheers
