ZS testing - dangerous? Electrical Advice

ZS testing - dangerous? Discussion ThreadZS testing - dangerous? Electrical Advice

I have read somewhere that performing a zs test where there is exposed metalwork and people around can be dangerous? Is it something that has to be avoided? Or does it say anywhere that it must not be done? Should i be worried about carrying out Zs tests now? :/

R2 test without removing cover Discussion ThreadR2 test without removing cover Electrical Advice

Hi all when performing an r2 test prior to commencing an EFLI test would it be acceptable if the board was made from metal of course to test from the point to the outside of the board rather than to the earth bar? Just for when you are working with large 3phase boards full of cables.

Clear up a bonding debate of ours. Electrical Advice

Clear up a bonding debate of ours. Discussion ThreadClear up a bonding debate of ours. Electrical Advice

Hi all
Wondered if you could clear up a debate we are having at work.
Gas inspection has said no bonding to the gas meter or pipe in block of flats.

One engineer says it should be run to the meter.
One says it should be installed outside within 600mm of where it enters the building on the blue arrow.
And one engineer says it should be inside 600mm from where it enters the flat...

Local RCBO protecting ring final alteration. Electrical Advice

Local RCBO protecting ring final alteration. Discussion ThreadLocal RCBO protecting ring final alteration. Electrical Advice

Hi
I completed a job recently where a hotel reception had a new desk fitted. The old desk dado was supplied via an RCD spur from the existing ring. This ring is fed from one of the very old Merlin single phase boards which I’ve been told you cannot retrofit Schneider ic60n RCBO’s in. I had to remove a couple of sockets including the existing Rcd spur from a...

24v DC driver for LED lights. Discussion Thread24v DC driver for LED lights. Electrical Advice

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a decent 24V DC constant voltage LED driver.

It’s for an install of bathroom niche LEDs IP65 downlights. They are mini and have a 35mm cut out. The 1.5mm T&E is already dropped to each cut out but need a driver that will fit through a 35mm whole and to be pushed up.

Many thanks,
Jay
