Registration ! Electrical Advice

Registration ! Discussion ThreadRegistration ! Electrical Advice

hello, I’m not far off going fully on my own,
Was wondering
Do I need to register with cps or building control? Was gonna go napit or any others that’s cheaper.
So I can sign my domestic work off.
But then thought do you acc need them? Can I not just make my own templates and give them my own certificate as I’m competent and a registered electrician?

If I do then is napit decent or is there a cheaper one out there...

Overage protector for Espresso Machine Discussion ThreadOverage protector for Espresso Machine Electrical Advice

I bought a new Breville Barista Pro espresso machine and, after about 6 months, it started smoking from the interior. I returned it, Breville fixed it and, again, the same problem. Thereafter, Breville sent me a new machine, same problem.

It’s not a problem that’s widely reported for this machine and I’m starting to think there’s something off with our electricity.

Hi all.

OK... Let me just try and clear a 1" square space on the screen inbetween all the highly intrusive ads....

On a site (NHS in fact) and they have SolarEdge inverters of which a few appear to have failed. I don't normally touch anything solar (17th edition here.... just doing 18th).

The original installer has walked away and Solaredge refuse to help.

From google, it’s an old original bp pulse aka charge master. You can see the orange light, so there is...

Hydraulic crimping of 25mm 19 strand cables in flat crimp pins? Electrical Advice

Hydraulic crimping of 25mm 19 strand cables in flat crimp pins? Discussion ThreadHydraulic crimping of 25mm 19 strand cables in flat crimp pins? Electrical Advice

Evening chaps. What's the rules on this? I can't specifically see anything relative to the 19 stranded cables.

My boss says he won't crimp in consumer units, avoid it all costs, he rather strip a whole house down or add additional boxes than use a single crimp. Fair play to him.

However on commercial jobs I've seen...

Inverter over grid voltage fault Electrical Advice

I have a Solis 3.6 KW inverter which works well until it exceeds about 2000W when it shows "over grid voltage" and shuts down. I have a voltage meter in the house which can be showing around 240V, but as soon as the inverter starts up, the voltage climbs...

I'm doing my usual nonsense by obsessing about something months in advance. :D
I'm due to change my van in January.
I have a VW Transporter that I am more than happy with but it's a lease and has to go.
Given the choice I'd just get another VW but it looks like the next Transporter is a Transit custom under another name.
Does anyone have the new Ford Transit Custom?
If so what are your thoughts?
