looking around the flat there is definitely some interesting termination work.

So would new 230V ceiling lights need to be in ring circuit. 6 out 7 work. however, there is 2 final lamps.

Rcd fault not tripping Electrical Advice

Rcd fault not tripping Discussion ThreadRcd fault not tripping Electrical Advice

Hi
I have only had a quick look at a fault so haven’t gone too far into it.
Lighting mcb tripped out, elderly lady wanted it checked out before it went back on so meggered it, all lights worked but rcd would not trip.
It’s a BG 3+3 split load installed by someone when the heating was done about 8 years ago, no paperwork.
Swapped the second rcd for one I had on board but still would not trip, plugged...

Fridge & Freezer Radial - B or C curve on RCBO? Discussion ThreadFridge & Freezer Radial - B or C curve on RCBO? Electrical Advice

Hello,

Please help settle a mental ponderance.

What is the collective opinion on curve ratings on a 20A RCBO feeding two Radial feeds in 2.5 T&E, one going to a dedicated under counter socket (via DP isolator above counter) for a Freezer and the other doing the same but for a full height fridge. Could this sensibily be a C curve - in case both fire up...

Ctec fire alarm not lit up at all Electrical Advice

Ctec fire alarm not lit up at all Discussion ThreadCtec fire alarm not lit up at all Electrical Advice

Hi, I have a ctec fire alarm, I think it's bi wire.
There are no lights apart from the one on the power supply.
I'm puzzled as it seems it just not be getting power but the call point lights up when pressed.

Should I just replace the whole panel or replace the power supply first?

Thanks

Moving a socket on a ring ciruit Electrical Advice

Moving a socket on a ring ciruit Discussion ThreadMoving a socket on a ring ciruit Electrical Advice

I want to move a socket on a ring circuit approx 5-6 feet, fitted cupboards coming in will cover it otherwise. It has 2 2.5 mm cables coming into it. My question is, should all 4 cables be connected together (all 4 lives, all 4...

IP2X Rating on DB Electrical Advice

IP2X Rating on DB Discussion ThreadIP2X Rating on DB Electrical Advice

Hi
I have come across a new DB that has been installed that requires testing. The tails to the board have come in through a 40mm bush in the side of the unit. They are 25mm tails. Therefore the IP2X rating has been compromised.
The board however is in a lockable cupboard and anyone with access to it is fully trained.
Is this acceptable?
