I just got my level 2. I've been looking online, and although I heard there is a shortage of electricians, I can not find any jobs online. How are people getting entry-level jobs in this industry? I also have a Sentinel card so I can work on the railways as well but again can not find even trackman jobs.

there has to be work, where is it advertised?

Sorry this is a bit of a long read but I’d be extremely grateful if someone can help me understand RCDs and testing methods of them.

I know RCD test applies a fault current but in what way? I understand how continuity/IR and the other test work so it helps me know what to do, what’s going on, what to look for etc but I’m a bit stuck on...

What's everyone's preferred way of pricing? I've never done per point but seen that quote a lot of people do it that way. Just doing an extension at the minute with the following,

14 spots
1 island pendant
4 outside lights
4 gang modular switch
1 new 6mm hob circuit
1 new 2.5mm radial circuit (1 point)
10 sockets
new water bond 5 metres (stop tap has been moved)

All white accessories, what would people do per point on this...

My flat has been rewired, the old light switches have been replaced but the original metal box recessed into the wall and still in situ did not have an earth terminal. the electrician has renewed the wiring with twin and earth but just the earth loose with green sleeving over it. ie not connected to the metal base box. Sure this has come up before but yesterday testing after adding a spur and end to end readings on CPC come out about 0.2ohm over expected reading (was expecting about 1ohm from LL & NN (0.65)
