Just finished a bathroom using Porcelanosa Queens interlocking tiles. Grout line is less than 1mm
After speaking to Porcelanosa uk, found out that these tiles had passed all certification needed to be used with high flow showers.
The tiles were supplied with grout 0-4mm.
Just intrested to...
I need to replace 5 or 6 bathroom tiles - not bothered about an exact colour match, but I have a problem with the size. Thinking they were standard 200 x 250 mm, I bought some samples from a DIY store. Thing is, the existing tiles are a tad smaller - something like 245 x 195mm. The house was...
Hello. Quick question if possible please. Im starting a kitchen for which runs into a hallway. The floor is ok with regards to levels. My question is as its not completely flat should I use a notch trowel with the width 20mm and the depth 10mm half moon shaped or wil this be to much or a 10x10...

Just wondering what size jobs people take on by themselves before time and time frames clash, if you get what i mean. My cut off is around 200mtrs. Depending on the job obviously it would take me 2-3 weeks. I only ask as i'm starting a job next week and the customer is already putting pressure...
Hi All,
I'm finally ready to tile my bathroom walls after getting all the prep done, Hardi 500 etc.
The tiles I'm using are 500mm x 200mm x 8mm thick ceramic and will be fixed using a standard set bagged tile adhesive (sorry the name escapes me but was recommended on here)
Can you please...
6mm ceramic 150x150
8-9 mm ceramic/porcelain 36x27 ish !
8-9 mm cermaic/porcelain 600x300
based on walls being nice and flat..say plasterboard?
slightly uneven wall,old property ?
last but not least...all floors.
Hey all, Would it be ok to use a bigger trowel when over boarding slightly uneven floor boards with hardy? Don't feel confident using SPF with a 6mm trowel, not sure if it will fill the voids

Hi all.
I've had a bit of a trawl through the forum and can't seem to find any numbers as such. We're laying about 27m2 of Travertine over wet UFH, going down on Durabase matting. We're wondering how much of an expansion gap to leave between the base of the external door and the tile? And I...
Hi, more questions!
My new wetroom will have an AKW Tuff tray mounted onto new joists with 25mm marine ply in between & should therefore be a pretty solid installation.
I'm using Aquaproof tanking system & am going to mosaic tile the floor with tumbled travertine, question is, will I be...

Doing a job this week with a colleague, 600x300 rectified porcs over UFH. Someone mentioned to him that minimum spacer size is 3mm for this install? Is that correct? I had a quick read through the Brit Standards link someone posted on here the other day, but couldnt see any mention of this...
Hi all,
I would like recommendation for a wet tile cutter for a DIYer who is attempting his first job.
I intend to lay 600x600 floor tiles so need a wet cutter that can handle this size tile. Also the possibility of resin quartz tiles being involved in the job.
Thanks

Hi there, this is my 2nd posting following my 1st one earlier this morning (solid bed or dot n dab)
As I suspected everyone says to use the solid bed method, especially in wet areas.
As I may go back to doing the tiling myself on some jobs is it acceptable to use a larger notched trowel...
Have just picked up some Porcelanosa Multicolor Nacar 20x31.6x1cm tiles that imitate the mosaic effect, mosaics end up at 4x4cm in size for Mothers kitchen splashback.Saw these laid on a kitchen display in the M/cr showroom and thought they were proper mosaics so i know if laid right can look...
Hi Guys
I'm installing 250 x 750 tiles in my bathroom can you advise what trowel size should I use (square or notched)
The walls are hardie backer board and plasterboard
Thanks in advance
Simon.
Normally I have to work with tiles varying less than 1-2 mm , but sometimes I have to use tiles with 3-6 mm variation, or/and not squared.
In this cases, I make bigger joints, and use white (or other color similar of the tiles) joint cement.
Even so, I'm not satisfied with the results...
