Good Afternoon Everyone,
other than it being a waste of tiles and money, it there a technical reason why a quadrant shower tray- or any other size tray- should not be fixed to a completely tiled floor ? I have always had the tray fitted and tiled around it but have been asked the question and...

Having just put in a low level shower tray on my own and as a lay person I am not satisfied with the gapping at one side. I now feel it has settled not tight enough but seems to a least to be level enough in everyother way and to the other wall so I am looking to claw back several MM.
Rather...
Just wondering how we all get over this. Wetroom floor with flush shower former, electric underfloor heating throughout. Do you stop the slc at the start of the former and then freehand the envelope cuts down to the gully or do you do it another way?

Hi all,
Needed some help..... there is a bit of sag in the centre joists (see pic). Gap is about 1cm at highest point. Whats the best solution? :-) Is there a substanc whiadheres to wood and solidifies, providing a solid base?. I was thinking something along the lines of no-nails type adhesive...
1700x900mm wet room tray.
Unfortunately I only had white rapid set!
Marked out with frog tape.
Ready for clean up and grout tomorrow, with either ivory or grey??? Customer ok with either.
What does everyone else think?
As promised.
Fitted a Kudos, Aqua4MA tray former today.
this was fitted to a newly laid 18 mm plywood floor over joists. I had already trimmed the joists to suit the waste. Inside the shower area I cut out the plaster/ plasterboard to 150mm high for the skirting former.
1 . The kit I ordered...
Hi folks - first post here but a long time reader, so hello! :smile5:
Now onto my question - would be very grateful if anyone could help! After long research I'm well aware the recommended way to install a shower tray is to do so after moisture-resistant board has already been fitted, and to...
My customer wants a linear tray ideally around 800 x 1200 with the drain at one end. He's chosen mosaic tiles 48mm square so they're obviously just under the minimum recommended tile size most manufacturers recommend. I therefore need to find a tray (probably solid construction) that will take...
Not sure how everyone else does this but this is the way I do em.
1. Cut out for drain and lay the rest of the tray tiles.
2. Lay masking tape from the corners, mark out and number cuts with a wax crayon.
3. Cut tiles with wet saw to create a gap and polish the cut edges ( now using new...
Hi all
finally got round to updating MY OWN en-suite, busmans holliday. I'm using a PCS 1800 x 800mm tray former and 10mm pcs board over the remainder of the floor. I generally use superflex grout for floors, but it tends to look wet for a while after being used.
I don't want to use epoxy and...
Customer came on here a couple of months ago looking for a solution to rectify the loose tiles and water coming back up through grout joints.
I went to have a look and it was decided on close inspection that the tiles needed removing but unsure what next step was until what was underneath was...
Had a tiler come round to give a quote for tiling my bathroom.
I have 60x60 porcelain to go on the floor and wanted them envelope cut into the wetroom tray.
The guy was very against the whole thing and said I should only really be using mosaic.
I've spent quite a few weeks reading these...

Evening, struggled a bit today with setting out the cuts for the falls on a 1400x800 tray with a Linear drain at the end.. I think this is the tray.. Has anyone got any pictures of any tiled trays with a drain like this?? been surfing around but I can't find any
I'm installing a 1400x900 tray former from Maxus.
I plan on tiling over and envelope cutting for the falls in the tray. One thing I'm not quite sure about are the edges of the tray.
Where the tray is drilled and screwed down, the is about a 40-50mm flat edge then the tray falls down to an...
