1st Square Hole

Just noticed something else! Be careful with your marker pens. Some tiles will soak up the ink. I see you have used a red ink (to match your phone!).

Haha indeed.. Have to colour match 😉 thanks for the tip! I only used a sharpie as I knew it was a practise tile. My focus was solely on the cutting.

So I practiced cutting with my grinder yesterday, extremely enjoyable I must say!

However, on the right hand side of the blade (erbauer diamond tile blade) it pretty much always chips the glaze. The left side is fine. Is this normal, is it a rubbish blade or am I doing something wrong?

I tried using varying degrees of pressure to see if it changed anything but it didn't.

Any ideas?

I would upgrade your blade....

You should consider paying around the £70 mark for a blade. At that sort of mark it will last a very long time (if your not using it daily), and will give you a near perfect cut. if its a straight cut you can sometimes score the line first then use the blade, keeping your cut just to the side of your score. Hope this helps.

I remember my first square hole ,I was given a scribe, a toffee hammer , a lump hammer a pair of pinchers and a 6x6 johnstone tile oh what fun 🙂 .
