Advertising Question

Might be an idea if your not busy one day to spend the day or maybe a few hours over lunch at a said Tesco store and see how many people even notice the cards or take one. Presuming you get a call for every card removed it might give an indicator of volume if any of calls. I would not bother but you could leave a few cards in the 'tiles' section by mistake....

Once a week lol...see how long it takes for the staff to cotton on....and be careful the tiler whose cards are in isn't just out of prison....for aggravated assault......with menace.....pmsl

Better still tysfoot go to Tesco and ring the numbers on the other cards and find out for yourself what the potential is for that particular mode of advertising and indeed that store in question, I think this would give you your answer. Please tell us the results.

ill give this one a miss then. ill just stick to the rag
tysfoot thats a very wise decision m8.Just keep going around tradesmen, kitchen and bathroom fitters and im sur something will turn up.When the monthly payers get there cash at end of month you will see a rise in phone calls and potential business bud, hang on in there and keep YOUR MONEY and dont waste it on these advertising ventures, why do you think they are calling you....to get your money.Stay clear of all cold callers m8.Bri:grin: Set an ISA up for yourself dont bother with endowments the return is shocking,i just had a 10 year policy mature and i put 3000 over 10 years in to it and i had a return of 3600 with Liverpool Victoria so what a s h i t t y return eh?

When it comes down to marketing in any form whether a mulitnational business or a sole trader, it is important to get inside the mind of the customer / potential customer.

What would you do in there circumstances if you were looking for a tradesmen? Personally I would look in the yellow pages or online, and looking in the local supermarket wouldnt even cross my mind.

When you go into the store take a few numbers down of the tradesmen who are currently on the board and see what business they have gained from the advertisements.

As i have said before the most important thing is to monitor youre marketing. Ask everyone who calls you for a quote where they got your number from. If possible keep track of how much you have earnt from each form of advertising vs how much you have spent on it.

Cracking advise Neil...It is very important to ask the customer where they heard of you.....Gaz

hmmmmmm,

i seem to differ to most here.
to me seems worth investigating more. 520 for the year, what you got to ask yourslef is whats my day rate? and there fore do i not think that i can get even two or three days(or whatever it works out for you) work out of this tesco s scheme? then after that its made its money.

I think sometimes you gotta work it that way, no matter what the scale, you looking for commercial work the advertising will costs you thousandsm but then one job wil bring in thousands... same with any job, work out what it would take to get your money back and then consider.

now, if i didnt make my 520 back in the year i would go at the tesco machine with a lump hammer but thats another story.........:mad2:
