It won't need PAT testing yet as it is less than a year old.
The Dewalt has an RCD built into the power lead so you can do your own test Kev. I would take the cutter home and try it there in the first instance.

It looked as though the cutter is setup outside from your pic in another thread so could it have been affected from rain or air moisture? I know I get tingles from my grinder when it has been used outside in the rain

if its a 240v check the plug yourself in case the earth has come loose!

ps- do you lick the end of square batteries often?:smilewinkgrin:

I wouldn't risk using it anymore and even though I would be tempted to try it at another site to rule out the saw as the source of the problem, if it IS the saw then you could get lit up on the next site while you try the experiment.

If you don't have access to a sparky and can wait until monday, I'll ask mine on the job and see what he says.

Thanks everyone, I'll post a thread on the sparky form and try to get in touch with the electrician who is working on that job I just find it strange that the joiner got a jump off the hoover as well, but think that could have just been static.

My son said he was getting a small shock from my dewalt when using it the other week.. but i wasn't and we both were doing cuts..

So not sure if it is some kind of static shock..??

Nah, this is deffo a surge I'm getting - like a slight numbness which I can feel up to half way up my forearm:yikes: and then other times i'll get a sharp shock on my finger tips:yikes:
