Awkward cuts - whats your method

I use a bit of cardboard, pens, scissors and tape if I cut too much off, transfer to tile and cut carefully.
I do have a profiling tool, but that's in the bottom of my box and rarely comes out!

Squeaky bum time n all, needed 8 tiles to finish it n had 8 tiles left, one slip with the angle grinder and I was on a 2 hour round trip to buy an extra tile.. 🙁
