bal or mapei?

used to always use bal,but finding myself using mapei more often now,i do prefer using bal grouts but the vast colour range mapei now offer with matching Silicon is pushing me in there direction as it's giving customers more choice

I like both but tend to use Bal as I haven't got a decent Mapei supplier near me. Like many others I know the Bal range insideout now but do have an issue with their prices - even at trade cost. Keeping fingers crossed that someone local will start stocking Mapei soon!!!

hi sounds like your all sold on the same thing ,sorry to say down here in darkess devon you only get to use granfix ,or everbuild and its granfix for me any day :lol:

I prefer mapei to bal, not just beause of the price either, although like TT, I struggle to get it locally.

Always Mapei,their product has rarely failed me and they don't sell Bal over here but thanks for asking,Boots

Always found Bal over priced but due to working as a sub contractor i get to use it now and again, I dont find it any better than other makes i use. there are some nice products, White Star is a very consistent adhesive as is Mosaic Fix.
If its my choice and i can get it quick enough then Mapei win every time. They have a good selection of adhesives and grouts to meet my requirements. I still struggle to get good prices though without having to pre order, so sometimes this can lead to getting other makes that are available.
I do find that Mapei products in my area vary a lot in price from dealer to dealer.....sometimes its actually cheaper to get grouts from Screwfix....Come on guys get those prices to a realistic level......Oh levellers from Mapei are second to none

mapei all the way, Nothing wrong with BAL but we get a much better price with mapei and love working with their materials.
