Discuss DISASTER - Hit a water pipe & gas pipe with nails in the British & UK Tiling Forum area at TilersForums.com.

Has anyone else found that those detectors are a waste of time?
I've had 3 different ones so far and all 3 have let me down.
Metalised plasterboard fools them completely and anything other than a Barratt house i.e something made from bricks or stone fools them also.

I'd pay good money for one that actually works!

Any recommendations?
