easy life please

stripping a bathroom wall of tiles and adh at the min. been doing it for 15 hours so far and only done 2 and a half walls. what a ball ache of a job. using an sds drill and armeg tile remover. then a chisel to get rid of the remaining adh. please any advice AT ALL I AM GOING MAD. there must be an easier way. please enlighten me . are there any tools for a quick easy life. your help greatly appreciated. going back in the morning to finish off with no skin on my knuckles

that was fine on one wall. but the others are bagged adh. is there no easy answer???. i was hoping i won the lottery tonight so i can pay someone to finish off and have a lie in in the morning. cheers dave

If you can't get the old adhesive off then just make good the walls with one coat plaster or rapid set etc etc........

The best ways to remove old cementious adhesive are to either use some sort of roto-stop hammer drill, jackhammer, or similar, with a really wide and thin chisel, such as this floor scraper, or a specialized floor stripper (another one), or a really rough grit sander. Really ****ing dusty though, especially the last option.

A wallpaper stripper works wonders on old dispersion adhesives...........

Always be careful not to leave steam stripper on too long, if removing dispersion addy from plastered walls, the plaster can also come off...after all gypsum plaster is water sensitive....Gaz :yes:
