We’re those tiles different sizes John , I also found that the small triangle pieces were very poorly cut !

Just done a bathroom in same tile - customer supplied bal smoke and looked a treat.

Not the greatest tiles in the world are they? Look like someone has cut them in a shed with an old scoring wheel (chips everywhere)

Did the white tile absorb any of the grout colour ?

I used Weber silver grey on this.
Was Ardex c2 grey previously

Give the Weber wide joint silver grey a try, the cement based one

There's blast from the past C2 grey was the best,weber silver grey good , BAL micromax grey good also
