I have dabbled with slate art before, but years and years ago when there were probably less sealer products about. The lines do disappear outside, I really don't think any sealer will stop that, as any that last ouside will have an oil or resin action of sorts.

What you do is beautiful there, I can see the potential and am wondering if you are not making life needlessly difficult by not looking at colouring. Some of the guys here are experienced with grout pens, may that would work? just a thought, a felt tip point kind of action is really what you need, isn't it..

Just a thought what if you spay the slate with Sure Seal (grout sealer in a can ) might work

A lot to take in , ....
grout pen sound good, but I've never used one. Does it come in different sizes? Some lines are quite thin.
And would I then use the Sealer on top of it? And would it be removable if it goes over the lines (with slate being absorbant).

Just looked up grout sealing spray, sounds good as well. Choices and choices,...

Wish I didn't have to buy all these things just to try them out. The Mattstone arrived today, won't have time to try
today.

Thank you, just frustrating not being to sort it out for outside. Just tried the LTP Mattstone, on which I was counting, and my
lines are nearly gone:yikes:.

The LTP Ironwax works, but is unsuitable for outside. Any thoughts on Lithofin W or Lithofin Stainstop Eco? Being waterbased might they be better?
