Scott remember to take photos of each stage of the repair process, from the removal of the tiles to the finished result keep notes of all the conversations you have with the "tiler" and if you have any meetings with him make sure you have a witness with you. I know this sounds extreem but if this goes to court it will be a less stressfull experience for you and your family if you are prepaired. This guy wouldnt have a leg to stand on.

Good Luck

Hi Scott,
As everyone else has said this is clearly very sub standard work!!! to say the least. I feel from what you said you have lost all faith in him, from the pictures and the way he has lied and shown a clear lack of knowledge then i am afraid i would bite the bullet and put this down to experience. You could try to take him to a small claims court but you have no gaurantee of winning .Like all the other replies i would strip out carefully and start again.Every fault would constantly eat away at you as you use the bathroom .
The way to find a good tiler is through recomendation,a good trade supplier of tiling materials should be able to give you several phone numbers.Get at least 3 estimates, ask to see pictures of any previous work ,any tiler worth his salt will be able to send you to see previous customers work.A good job will stand out a mile.Im sorry you have had such a bad experince there are some excellent tilers out there you just have to find them, plus if they are any good then they should be busy,ie not able to start tomorrow,
good luck,
Hants tiler
