morning guys, cant seem to get my head around a quote and was hoping for some input. have a bad habit of under estimating and ending up doing an extra day. job is floor and worktop splash back. 5 m2 floor 30x30 ceramic on top of existing tiles( he will not countenance lifting em, customers been warned). so prep involved in that. 5m2 of brickbond 20x10 white bevelled edge tiles from b and q. walls have 9 sockets and fuse spurs to cut around, adhesive needs scraping off and plaster needs patching in places. i know people use day rate or m2 would be interested to know what you'd charge/estimate in your expeirence. thanks

What others would charge is not a good guide unless they live in the same catchment area as you m8.

Looks like you have 3 days work for one man.

To tile kitchen walls you must have a minimum you charge that is any area up to say 4m2 = £120.

Kitchen floors are rarely less than 5m2 @£25.

This gives a total of £220 and a days prep say another ton giving a total of £340.

A day rate usually starts at £120 so you arnt far out, round it to £350

These are my figures but will give you an Idea, also I am a bit quick so have made it 3 days in case. £350 would be fair tho.

cheers tiler, i was thinking £360 . for some reason was bugging me that it seemed a bit steep. but i know deep down thats fair. got to stop flapping about getting the job!! too many days being busy for peanuts had enough! ha ha

Floor will\should only take half a day to 3/4 of a day really.

Floor tiles to be scrubbed down with sugar soap and maybe roughed up a little with half a brick or something for that extra key grip if they are smooth glazed tiles, and floor should be already nice and level anyway to tile straight onto, and using a rapid set flexi adhesive you could grout the same day.

Wall prep say half a day if it's in a bit of a state and a day to tile and maybe grout the next morning, so overall 3 days at whatever day rate you need to earn really.
