I often wonder how these floors are so flat? Are they installed in the beginning and then honed down? I assume the screeds must be billiard table also?

THe floors in these stores/warehouses are just ordinary concrete but very very highly polished,i have seen these "floor layers!!!" come on site(mob handed) and lay and polish a floor for the best part of 24 hrs, they have hovercraft like m/c that they site on and just go over and over again,a firm i have come across is snowdens(i think) from yorkshire, they are when finished like glass but its just ordinary concrete,im sure many of the lads who have worked on site have come across these:thumbsup:

I supplied one of these floors quite some years ago and me and two other guys got to have a go on the ride on powerfloats (the hovercraft things) was noisy but great fun - of course we ended up having powerfloat races from one end of the building to the other..........health and safety ... pahh!

Yeh, I've seen the hovercraft machines somewhere. But how do the tiles end up sooo flat? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question!?

basically grinded down flat,a lot of so called tilers about could do with a hovercraft with grinding plates, lol
