just a quick update over the rubi's

according to dave at tradetiler, rubi have phased out the nd300!! he has got the last 9 so get in there if you want one because when there gone, their gone.

also, rubi have just altered the nd200. they have removed the side support bar so its just a flat bed cutter!! backward step if you ask me but there you go. make sure that the nd200 you order is one of the current/old stock ir else you might be a bit dissapointed..

I don't use the bar anyway, I find it pinches the tile between the blade and the bar when cutting....

The Rubi ND200 is a bit of a mixed bag really.
I've had mine for years, and yes the motor is good, and use a Motolit DNA wheel and it'll serve you well. It cuts lovely, but....
When mitering, i find if you have the machine stood on a wide flat surface it won't allow the bed to move to a full 45 degree position. Hard to explain, but the bed tilts to the right, so if you stand the machine on the right hand side of a bench, the bed will drop down further and give you the proper 45 degree cut.
The gauge is a bit duff and takes some setting up, and the guard post especially with a thin porcelain wheel doesn't allow the tile to slide very easily. But in spite of its faults i do like it.

The Vitrex QEP 750 is a decent saw for about £100. It's a bit useless at mitering because of the bed tilting up rather than down but it's a lot cleaner to work with than the Rubi due to the enclosed water tray and water circulation, so you won't find a big puddle under your work area.

you do surprise me wingy, not one sigma recommendation.. i thought you would have at least mentioned a sigma 9L2 with a sigma blade included!! or maybe something a bit tastier like a 9p or 9m?? your slipping pete ;0)

The 9P is well worth thinking about. It's not cheap but what is today. It's got some really good features like Sliding bed, No pump to get clogged up, Comes with a diamond blade good for 1500sqm of porcelain, Galvanized body so it wont rust, can cut large planks with no woble or flex on the blade or motor. Very strong machine that will last you many years. Also you don't need to wear any waders when using the machine. I can post a video if anyone is interested.

You don't buy that sort of high quality engineering for £200, that's why only the cheap Rubi has been mentioned.
