I will put some photos up tommorrow............you lot are the BEST OF THE BEST TILERS in the land IMO..............(anyone who does 8/10 hours graft and then bothers to come on here deserves respect)
I am willing to bet that you lot come to the same concusion as me.....that said, I thought I stood a chance in JOTM....hehehehehehehehehe

Hi Lee, I meant that the crackle glaze tiles are a modern tile made to reproduce the effect of crazing on ceramics, which occured years after the tiles had been fixed.

I agree Phil.....(and now understand what you mean!)........soooooooo.......should you see a crackle in a modern installation?.........in you opinion?

I just installed some 150x75 crackled tiles today , grouting tomorrow.

Dave.......TALK TO THE CLIENT BEFORE YOU GROUT!!!!!......unless the tiles are white and the grout is white ETC......

not telling you how to suck eggs in anyway........but you may be surprised by the response from your client!!!....

white/cream/grey , 3 colours with limestone grout.. going to test on the grey as the light ones will be fine... show customer and he can decide but these are mass produced ones from CTD and not the hand made type.. more like replicas .

the rules remain the same.........you are on the right track by showing the client prior to grouting on the darker colour!..........wish I did that...........rather than assume....
but as you all should know.......to ASSUME makes an *** out of U an ME!........hehhehehhhehehhe...

before grouting go over tiles with a wet sponge when they stop crakling its ok to grout .but not black grout .you may have to damp them down sevral times

I could have soaked mine in a bucket of water all nite......would have made no difference

I have finished my crackleglaze job........can you spot the wall that was NOT sealed!!!!!











dont get me wrong the sealer has made a difference........but with these hand made jobbies.........it was not a MAJOR difference.......
