hi, to everyone. Ive been interested in this site for a while now due to the fact it caters for all novice to pro. Ive been a tiler for 7 years now and i think everyday is still a school day!
With that said my biggest gripe with the job is still fitting mosaic borders to walls that run in and out etc. especialy when using large format tiles where they may need to be bedded out more to make up for the unevenness of the walls. i normaly use the rapid set adhesive as i get up to border hight and allow it to nearly harden before putting the next row on above. this way still seams to give chance to make sure the mosaics are nice and flush. is there a better way? if anyone can help?
another tiler ive worked with suggested fitting the mosaics to 6mm ply then bedding them in after. which dosent always work depending on the depth of the border void/space and the depth of the mosaics v depth of the tile. dose anyone have any suggestions? cheers.
