Got tray and waste fitted today. Originally had basin and shower waste exiting as one pipe when I did first fix 6 years ago - had to separate them now to get over the double joist problem and new tray waste hole position so didn't quite finish all of first fix as planned. I've had to core drill new waste pipe to outside, still at least they'll be no chance of gurgling now if basin and shower is used at same time. Also fitted valve and piped up for shower heads.

Tomorrows job is to tee into water feeds and join waste to stack outside. Also just sort feed and waste for basin now I know exactly where it needs to be. Then it'll all have to wait for a bit because I need to go out and earn some more money !

yes, floor and a wall in dark as you say, just wondering if the wall opposite the window, right as you walk in would be better in dark. That way the room doesn't look to dark as you walk in but the dark on right wall will draw you round and into the room.
any way have a play with some ideas, but I'm sure you will love the tiles.
Ardex organic earth grout will match well.
:)

Food for thought cheers.
If I do go for those tiles I was planning on kerapoxy Anthracite and metal Anthracite box trims if funds permit but will have a butchers at the Ardex.

Plumbing all sorted and floor overboarded. Picked up a couple of those tiles I was interested in...but....I don't like them. They're all right but for that money I need to love 'em.

Tomorrows job is to move the light so it's well clear of the shower enclosure and install an extractor fan.
Then I'm out of time and money again but......I think I've found my tiles!
60x60 for the floor and 22x85 for the walls, obviously won't be able to match grout joints now but at least I've managed to find some tiles I actually like.
I'm going with Ray's suggestion for small rooms : a dark feature wall same as the floor and Julian's suggestion of having the dark wall to the right. Also going with a greater contrast as suggested by everyone else!

A few weeks ago I moved the light clear of the shower enclosure and put an extractor fan in.
Then over bank holiday got the floor and wall done in the dark tiles and trimmed the door. Out of cash and time again but it's starting to look like an ensuite for the first time, just wish I could crack on instead of doing little bits every few weeks.
Had no spare floor tiles to fall back on so felt the pressure when cutting round tray but it ended up perfect - angle grinder and ATS blade (absolutely no chipping and so easy to cut).

Why not fold onto the tray with the tanking....
I did it that way today with Tilemaster self adhesive tape and their tanking paste. I will tile it and then just cut off the excess afterwards with a sharp knife blade. First time I've used the Tilemaster tanking stuff, quite liked it, much less mess than Ardex WPC, is it as good though? Only time will tell.
