Rubi single point break system will do exactly that to porcelain....Break Them...

The only cutters that have been developed for 20+ years to cut porcelain are the Italian ones

Raimondi

Montolit

Same machines different badge will split 50x50 porcelain corner to corner without batting an eye.

The choice is yours !

My Montolit cutter has an adjustable spitter. get this set correctly and it will cut cleanly without splintering the tile. Snapping the tile is done by stomping on the handle...yes, with my foot !!!! Is this just a little extreme or is this heavy footed technique the same for Rubi and Sigma?
Cmon you chatty lot... how do you cut yours?

sigmas are the best, FACT :)

Which Montolit are you using to compare your sigma with Scottish

Rubi rules!!! tiler 101 you must not be using the rubi correctly if you cant snap a porcelain clean with it ( tx ). Never used the sigma, but dont think id ever need to really.

Hi Brummie

Your cutter doesnt have the single point breaker system mate it has their new breaker. Really speaking the TX and sigma fit into the same catagory so you wouldnt see an advantage

Hi Len

You are using an older model of montolit. The raimondi which is identical to the montolit have a simple breaker with thickness adjustment and you push the scriber. The breaker requires just a tap with your hand. These cutters are developed and manufactured in Italy and are the muts nuts in quality and operation. Ruby changed lanes about 5 yrs ago because their single point wasnt working on porcelain, Sigma introduced the clik clak breaker into the uk but isnt really taking on. Companies are playing catchup to raimondi and monto who have a pedigree for porcelain.

Of course this is just an opinion :)
