Just out of interest as everybody states DAY RATE, could you indicate the size of job im m2 and tell us what you charged for the complete job. Day rate is great, but if you have never done a regrout a ball park figure would be helpful, look forward to your reply.

Hi all, I bought a miltimaster last week after a call back from a customer. The grout had cracked on 2 of their bathroom walls I did a few weeks ago. He was happy if i just tried to fill the cracks with new grout but I wasnt having it. He had supplied the grout for the job origionaly and I should have insisted on flexi but went with the non-flexi as it was there (sily me). The 2 walls in question are ply, the rest are plastered masonary. Anyhows i got a fein ordered up and removed the grout in a few hours from approx 6m2 of tiles 30x20. Hoverered up the mess and grout lines to clean them. Regrouted and smiles all round. The gaps where 2 mm and no chipped tiles but you have to concentrate. I didnt take anyt payment when asked how much as i did know better so they gave me £25 of vouchers for my local by way of thanks.
During the week it saved me a few hours on the site im on, trimmed the bottom of all the architaves i would have been cutting round and the site foreman was well impressed with the finished look.

Multimaster, money well spent.

it just depends on how fast you work rick and what you feel is a fair price , as everybody works at a differant pace and what the average rate is for your area . in most cases somewhere between 80 and 100 quid perday or more in certain parts of the country. last one i did was a bathroom of 8m2 plus remove old Silicon and reseal .i charged him £130 all in, £10 for grout, £10 for bal micro sealer,£10 for Silicon remover paste, that leaves me with £100 fresh readies that the mrs grabbed soon as i walked through the door:mad2: :whatchutalkingabout

Don't have a fein but I do have a dremmel. Not great for grout removal, as it is way too easy to slice into the tile. Bits are also quite fragile and only come in 2 sizes.

Just make sure and get the tilers kit with the tool, it will be obvious what attachment to use.

these are a great bit of kit, but i am over a barrel with regards to getting the 110v or the 240v. they look like they would be mostly used for domestic work and i hate lugging the tranny around (que the jokes) so i will probably regret it and get the 240v

Still have'nt got mine yet............will be ordering in the next week or so:yes:

STILL won't be doing re-grouting jobs............ Oh how I hate them :furious3:
