Yes Whitebeam mate, you are missing something. The point is that the advancement of technology is an ongoing thing. These machines use the latest technology that is available, and even technology developed for said machine. These new innovations introduced in supercars like this eventually filter down to your ordinary road cars and help to make things a bit safer, along with quicker and more fun.
There are places that they can be driven but usually only available to the super rich if they have their own track, or you live in Germany or some other unrestricted place with surfaces decent enough to drive the thing on.
